Moved and Getting Settled
We got moved into our new house and are now trying to get unpacked and settled in. Capri was really good while we were trying to get moved. It was the most she was ever set down in her life. She still cried some, but not as much as I had expected. However, we are now facing adjustment issues. Capri doesn't like sleeping at night right now. I am so tired. I wish the phrase, "Go to sleep" actually worked. It is hard to be frustrated with her because all she does is smile and giggle at me. At least she's happy. Brenden and Ainsley like being in separate rooms, especially since they got nightlights. Ainsley loves her pink princess room. She also loves sharing a room with Capri.
We had a fun snow day this past weekend. The kids had fun playing in the snow on Sunday. It took some convincing to get them to change out of their church clothes first. Today, Ainsley wore shorts to the park. I love this weather.

Capri has a new trick
Capri rolled over today. She got up on her side and was fussing. Her little bum was wiggling trying to get all the way over, but she couldn't quite get there. Ainsley was trying to entice her with a toy when Capri just went to sleep. She napped on her side for a little bit. When she woke up, Daddy picked her up for a little bit, but when her put her back on the floor, she tried rolling over again. With a little bit of effort and Brenden saying "Come on, come on", she was finally successful. Brenden and Mommy just cheered.
Brenden has been doing well with Kindergarten. Ainsley misses him. On Tuesday, she had asked me 4 times before lunch if it was time to get Brenden yet. Happily, Brenden's teacher has had positive reports for him.
Things are progressing forward with the purchase of our house. Ainsley asks every day if today we get to go to the house. She has even packed a bag for when the day arrives. Poor girl, the next 2 weeks are going to be long.

First Day of School
Well it's official- my baby has started kindergarten. He has done pretty good so far, although, when working on a school bus project, Brenden got overzealous with the scissors while cutting it out and then took out his glue and glued his bus to the table. Needless to say, the bus didn't get to go home, it ended up in the garbage can. Brenden is enjoying school and loves his teacher. He also loves taking lunch in his Thomas lunch box. The school does not have any cooling system, at least in the classrooms, so he is allowed to have a water bottle to sip from during the day. I do miss him being gone all day.

Another month has passed already
I can't believe a month has passed me by, again. Brenden is ready to start school in a few days and even though it is difficult to send my baby to kindergarten, I am also looking forward to sending him off to learn and experience new things. I love the school he will be attending. The principal is wonderful and has done some amazing things for the school. Brenden's teacher is rumored to be fabulous. I am excited to see what he will accomplish this year. Brenden is excited about eating lunch at school. He picked out a Thomas the Tank Engine lunchbox and a Transformers backpack. He is ready to go.
Capri is growing and changing. She loves to smile and coo. She also loves being bounced and will giggle readily. Capri also is grabbing things now and will hold toys that she is given, her burp cloths and even her bink. She woke up at 6:15 this morning to eat and didn't go back to sleep. We have been playing while Brenden and Ainsley still sleep. I was hoping she would go back to sleep, but she keeps smiling at me and I lost that resolve. Brenden just got up. He came down and greeted Capri, who smiled at him. He grins and says, "Mommy, she smiles at me." He then noticed she had the hiccups, which he tells me about, then lays his ear almost on her belly until she hiccups again. This makes him laugh and laugh. I never really though Brenden could be gentle and cautious, but he is so careful with Capri. He is now playing with her and showing her toys while he talks to her about them and what he is doing. I love that I get to witness these little interactions. Ainsley just got up now and immediately goes to Capri and starts talking to her and playing with her. Of course, Capri smiles at her in return and Ainsley looks at me and says, "Mommy, she's happy to see me". I thought this was cute; Ainsley makes a comment to me about Capri's lack of hiccups. Now Capri is ready to eat again and the quiet morning I was enjoying for the past couple hours is gone as the children are all awake.

2 months already- can you believe it?
We took Capri to the Dr for her 2 month well check. Brenden and Ainsley were concerned about Capri getting shots. Ainsley kept asking if she could hold Capri's hand while she got her shots. Ainsley was right there the whole time. While the Dr was checking Capri over, Brenden and Ainsley were right there, watching and guarding. It was so cute. The Dr asked them if they loved their baby sister. Capri weighed 11 pounds 3 ounces and was 24 inches long. She is doing well. I think I can now say that she is breastfeeding competently. I am so glad that I don't have to pump anymore. It has freed up quite a bit of time; not that Capri will tolerate being set down. It has allowed me to read quite a bit and I am mastering cross stitching while holding her. I am not complaining about having to hold her constantly because one day she won't want to be held anymore. I have to soak up what I can. However, it would be nice if she was happy with her Daddy holding her for longer stretches. We love her, so we hold her. Shad has been so good to help with dishes and other things around the house, which I am very grateful.
Ainsley had a mishap on Saturday. We were at a park in Springville and a snake slithered passed so Shad got the kids to show it to them. Ainsley didn't like the snake and was running away across the grass when she fell on a paved walkway and smacked her head. Of course, she had to fall as she crossed the walkway instead of the grass where her injuries would have been minimal. The goose egg was enormous. Ainsley claims the snake pushed her down with its tail as she was running away.

Summertime Adventures
We have been having a bit of a hectic summer, or maybe it seems that way because I am trying to cram things in between Capri's feeding sessions. I am happy to report that she is doing much better with her nursing. I am not going to say she's mastered it until we visit the Dr next week and her weight is good. She has been nursing exclusively for the past few days and most of the time will go at least an hour and a half before acting hungry again. It has us hopeful. I can't believe that she will be two months on Sunday. I guess time flies when you are having fun. Capri is a really good baby, as long as she is being held during her wake time. This puts a damper on what can be accomplished during the day. At least she does well at night, once she falls asleep whether it's 11pm or 1 am.
Brenden has had all the adventures this month. He spent a week out at Grandma and Grandpa's in Roosevelt, and had fun playing with his cousins and helping Grandpa. It made our house quiet because Ainsley didn't have anyone to make lots of noise with. She missed Brenden that week and wouldn't go to bed on her own. Brenden is also looking forward to his fifth birthday, that is quickly approaching. His birthday wish list keeps growing. Brenden is also enjoying his summer Smart Start class.
Ainsley loves to help with Capri. She is always asking to hold her. Ainsley is also very willing to fetch items for Capri, like diapers, blankets, and burp cloths. Her other favorite activities include picking on Brenden and jumping on the couch.
