Shad Mecham Family

Tuesday, May 20 2008 what a wonderful day. Erin and I woke up at 5:00 am and started to get everything ready for our trip to Ogden Regional Medical Center. By 6:30 we had ourselves all set, the kids all packed to go stay the week with Grandma and Grandpa Mecham. We arrived at the hospital and were all checked in by 7:30 am. The beginning of a very long day.

By 8:30 Erin was all hooked up and well on her way to bringing a little angel into the world. The kids were hanging out waiting for Grandma Mecham, Aunt Stacy and their cousins. Grandpa Mecham was bringing a bus load of students out to Lagoon for the day and Ainsley had overheard Erin and I talking about this. She had made up her mind that she was going to be able to go and play at Lagoon with her Grandpa.

At 10:30 Grandma and Aunt Stacy showed up at the hospital. Erin had still not progressed very far. Mostly due to the fact she had to be on an antibiotic for 4 hours before they would start her. We had a good visit with Grandma and company. Not long after they arrived we loaded Brenden and Ainsley along with their bags packed for a week of fun into Aunt Stacy's van and off the kids went to Lagoon where Grandpa waited for them.

As the day goes on we hear reports from Lagoon that Grandpa has a wild little granddaughter that is loving all the rides. And still Erin is slow to progress much. At 3:30 Erin's doctor shows up to check on her and break her water. While the doctor is here Grandma calls to let us know the kids have had it and are all ready for naps so they are off to Great Grandma's . 4:00 rolls around and brings with it Great Aunt Jan to join Erin and I.

By 5:00 Erin is all but there and ready for this new little one. But her doctor doesn't show up and the staff at the hospital want her to wait. Soon the doctor does arrive and within minutes Capri Irene Mecham is taking her first breath. Both Mom and Dad are so happy to have this little angel to share our life with. Capri weighs 9 lb. 3 oz. and is 22 in. in length.

Not long after Capri joins us her big brother and sister show up to at the hospital with Grandma, Aunt Stacy, Anna, and Megan. Ainsley can't seem to get enough of her little sister and Brenden worries about her and tries to make sure no one is hurting her. He will be a good big brother to his 2 little sisters.
